Feel Me In – Spice Twice

YouTube Preview Image

Gado and Jey Key, the Tokyo duo making up Spice Twice, introduce themselves to the HipTronik world with the track "Feel Me In." The boys aren't even well-known in Japan, but these regulars from the Roppongi nightlife scene have managed to write, produce and perform their own tracks, as well as score onstage gigs. The song crosses back and forth between Japanese and English through slow vocal moments and hard dance moments. The lyrics don't alway make sense, but for a couple kids just breaking into the scheme of things, we've got to give credit where it's due.

What happens when you mix one of Japan's greatest pop stars with its most exciting electronica group? Answer: "Rule (80Kidz's 'No More Rule' Mix)," the original track which appeared on Ayumi Hamasaki's 45th single, "Rule / Sparkle," and was used internationally in the live action "Dragonball Evolution" released earlier this year.

Surprisingly, the 80Kidz were asked to remix the track for the megastar, despite their underground status. The results are simply mouthwatering, if not completely addictive. Though they don't often release electronica/hip-hop mashups, the 80Kidz are definitely worth checking out (you'll love "Life Begins at Eighty" and "Disdrive"). Trust us, this up-and-coming group out of Tokyo is not one you want to miss.
