Recap: New Years Eve with Hyper Crush

“Long legs, bitchin’ booty, she was like a vision to me…” sang front man Donny Fontaine to a packed crowd in the Hyper Crush Ballroom shortly after the countdown on New Years Eve. Girls seeming to match that very description swayed back and forth, drinks in hand, simultaneously fighting off the men trying to get close enough to sing those same lines into their ears. Lights flashing in the background, Holly Valentine stepped up to the microphone to answer back as Preston Moronie took to his keytar. As the song finished, the neon-attired trio marched straight into the Hyper Crush classic, “Arcade,” working their fans into feverish excitement.

Keep Up – Hyper Crush
Here’s the latest single from LA-based electronic trio Hyper Crush. Vocalists Donny Fontaine and Holly Valentine, along with keytarist Preston Meronie, independently released their debut album “The Arcade” before signing with Universal Motown in 2008. Since then, they've steadily gained popularity with tracks like "The Arcade," "Robotech," and "Sex and Drugs." Known for their quirky sound--a throwback to the 80's or what they have coined "Electro/Doo-hop"--Hyper Crush has recently finished several tours, opening for artists like Kevin Rudolf and Lady Gaga. Released today, “Keep Up” is their infectious new HipTronik dance track that will really move your feet.

The Arcade – Hyper Crush
“The Arcade” is Hyper Crush's early adaptation and interpretation of the Hiptronik sound which caught attention and opened eyes last summer when they were introduced to the Los Angeles performance scene. Almost as versatile as the Black Eyed Peas (minus the dance), “The Arcade” is a great showcase of the next wave of music with throwback video game sampling and fashion extremes that set the foundation for the lifestyle behind this movement.
