Milkshake (Mightyfools Remix) – Kelis
Club music by and for club goers — that’s what you get from the Mightyfools duo, Dutch natives Andy Samin and Jelle Keizer. The two joined forces after meeting in an empty club one night, and the rest is history. Mightyfools has generated a lot of buzz worldwide with their Partyjunkies EP and remixes of Fall Out Boy, Tommie Sunshine and Crookers. The globetrotting pair have made the rounds in clubs and festivals, building a reputation for music that is both fun and energetic. Take one listen of to the Mightyfools' spin on Kelis’ “Milkshake” and you’ll see that they possess an acute sense for melding genres in true HipTronik fashion.
Memories- David Guetta ft. Kid Cudi
David Guetta is on a roll with HipTronik these days having released multiple tracks with Akon, Chris Willis and Estelle. This Kid Cudi collaboration however takes the cake. The lyrics are kept simple and to the point: "All the crazy sh** I did tonight, those will be the best memories..." Combining David Guetta's infectious touch with Kid Cudi's uncanny ability to throw out a ton of emotions in a few words is ingenious. What results is a dizzying club anthem you'll find yourself playing over and over while getting ready for a night on the town.
The Reeling – Passion Pit (Calvin Harris Remix)
![]()
Calvin Harris, AKA the King of Electropop, delivers music to his loyal listeners as any generous ruler would. Harris's rendition of Passion Pit’s hugely successful, “The Reeling,” is a funky twist on an already a superbly-produced track combining disco-pop, 80’s rock, house, and now--electro. Passion Pit's original song almost pales in comparison when stacked up against Harris's remix. The tune goes from energetic and playful to club-ready--just right for you dedicated feet-movers.
Lapdance (Bingo Players Bootleg) – N.E.R.D.
Hip hop and dance music fans alike are reminded of the unique funk/rock/hip hop sound that put N.E.R.D. on the map back in 2001, as this Bingo Players' edit of "Lapdance" (check out the original) makes its rounds in the current dance festival circuit. Always known as innovators of their craft, N.E.R.D. and The Neptunes garnered respect for their digital production techniques and should be considered pioneers in today's Hiptronik movement.
It's no surprise that they've even headlined HARD New Year's Eve and HARD Summer, two of the biggest electronic music festivals on the West coast. Meanwhile, the Bingo Players are another Dutch duo that have risen amongst the ranks in the electro house scene in the past year, and Diplo's remix of "Get Up" remains one of the most recognizable tracks of 2008.
Let’s Go – Sidney Samson ft. Lady Bee & Bizzey
From the man who brought you the summer anthem, "Riverside," Sidney Samson's "Let's Go" is a new banger that embodies the dirty Dutch sound (think DJ Chuckie or Afrojack) spreading like wildfire across the globe. This particular collaboration with Lady Bee and Bizzey is a little reminiscent of our own Black Eyed Peas, but Lady Bee holds her own, more-than-impressive, track record.
Starting her career in the Dutch drum and bass scene, Lady Bee now commands the mic as one of the most sought-after MCs amongst house and club DJs. Be on the look-out for her debut album, which features all the top-of-the-line talent the Netherlands has to offer. If you prefer something less commercial, check out, "Shut Up and Let It Go," another Samson and Bee collabo.
Licky – Princess Superstar
Riding on the success of Mason's "Exceeder" track in 2007, Princess Superstar releases another sexy pop track that has the dance floors on fire. "Licky" picks up on the gaining popularity of the B-more house sound.
MSTRKRFT ft. John Legend – Heartbreaker
When I first heard about the live collaboration performed by electro producers/DJ’s Mstrkrft and John Legend at April’s Coachella, I thought, “What the?!” Surprisingly, I read some incredible reviews of the performance, which may be a sign that electro and electronic music is finding a path into mainstream American pop culture in a way it never has before.
I remember the huge wave of electronic music events back in the 90’s—some of which I had the pleasure of being patron to; they were completely detached from the mainstream. There was something romantic about music that was underground, dirty, and in the shadows; it was the feeling of the unknown, of the hunt, which made it a magnet for the youth of my generation. It was our version of Woodstock, and it brought thousands together for the love of the music and love of the scene. Then we watched that scene grow and die with its introduction into the mainstream. When it became popular, it lost its luster—it needed to be elitist and it needed to be exclusive.
Boom Boom Pow – Black Eyed Peas (DJ AMMO official Rmx)
This remix off the official G.I. Joe soundtrack is amazing. DJ AMMO tears it up with this already dope BEP electro track. After the credits came up at the end of the movie, I definitely sat back down on my seat to give this track a listen. DJ AMMO adds an awesome hard bass to give it a kick, plus a slight hint of wobbly bass that almost shouts dubstep music.

Say Yeah – Wiz Khalifa
This was one of the first HIPTRONIK tracks i heard. I remember hearing it on the radio and was like WHOA, "Did this guy really rap over the most popular rave song of the 90's decade?? " (Alice Deejay - Better off a lone). I'll admit I was not a big fan, but when you hear it in the club you can't help but "say yeah" (yes, pun intended). Definitely one of the first people to introduce hiptronik
