Fire – 2NE1

2NE1 is the latest group to emerge from the legendary Korean hip hop label, YG Entertainment, along with their hiptronik label mates Big Bang. Produced by Park Teddy, the girl band’s first single, “Fire,” interlaces electronica with an intoxicating reggae beat already burning up the charts. Their music video garnered one million hits its first day on YouTube and earned several awards, including “Song of the Month.” 2NE1 is clearly paving the way for the hiptronik movement in Korea, but with their popularity showing no signs of slowing down, the rest of Asia is probably not far behind.
