Whatever You Like (Discotech Remix) – T.I.

YouTube Preview Image

Discotech
Despite the fact that there's not much information out there about the actual identity of Discotech, we can definitely come to the conclusion that they create some awesome remixes. The one we like best? That has to be their take on T.I.'s "Whatever You Like." The original had us smooth grooving, but this version has us jumping on the dance floor. The remix hardly strays from the arrangement of the original track, instead simply giving it that necessary HipTronik push. Discotech has just launched a new blog, which still lacks a bio, but makes up for it with little remix gems. If the music's good, does it really matter?

Fireball- Dev

YouTube Preview Image

Dev
You've already heard Dev on the hit track "Like a G6" by Far East Movement, which sampled her song "Booty Bounce." But this singer is no one-trick pony. Dev has a slew of amazing tracks floating around the internet right now, including "Fireball," an eclectic forray into HipTronik, mixing electro with a touch of reggae. But her style and the song's dreamy interludes remind us of a rougher version of Uffie. The emotion spilling out of Dev's flow and the bass is enough to leave our head spinning. "Fireball" is not a track you can miss.

Uffie- Neuneu

YouTube Preview Image

Uffie
Uffie, the French-Electro songbird whose album "Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans" drops June 13th comes at us with the forthcoming track "Neuneu." The song is amazing and a bit playful as the jazzy electro beat bounces up and down alongside Uffie's sweet as sugar voice. The apt and clever lyrics set it over the top though, and almost make you ask, "Ke$ha who?" This HipTronik gem of an album which features Pharrell and the Beastie Boys' Mike D among many others is definitely not one to be passed up.

Les Petits Pilous - BNR, Vol. 1 - Dodo Electro
Anthony Ferrando and Jean-Patrick Simonetti are the fresh French exports behind Les Petits Pilous — a project set in motion after Ferrando and Simonetti attended a Para One concert. Les Petits Pilous established themselves on the HipTronik scene, playing at clubs and festivals around the world. And despite the group’s fledgling status, the two were able to pave the way for success with their pulsating electro rhythm in tracks like “Dodo Electro.” The duo signed with Boys Noize Records and have released a substantial number of original tracks and remixes since then. With the recent release of their third EP “Bielle,” Les Petits Pilous give you a taste of better things to come.

Ce Jeu (Rogerseventytwo Remix) – Yelle

YouTube Preview Image

Yelle - Ce jeu - EP
Rogerseventytwo may be from the Netherlands, but his DJ style traces back to the French. Hence the remix of Yelle’s vibrant track “Ce Jeu,” where we see a magnetic infusion of suspended electro lines and pounding bass to amp up the quirky original. Rogerseventytwo evolved as he joined forces with long-time friend The Walk and together became TWR72. The duo explore the maxims of French house music, refashioning the old-school to make it their own. Despite thir rising popularity in Europe, TWR72 has shifted gears to focus on producing rather than deejaying. But TWR72 won’t be falling to the background anytime soon; the pair is set to release a fresh set of tracks with their first EP, so be sure to keep them on your HipTronik radar.

MGMT - Oracular Spectacular - Electric Feel
Nate Wize is no amateur. The Toronto DJ/producer has cultivated a distinct sound over his 15-year career, drawing from hip hop, ‘90s raves, deep house and heavy bass to create tracks that are uniquely HipTronik. The remix whiz has performed with Thievery Corporation, MIA and Blondie; collaborated with rapper Lee Reed; and he’s a member of both Dubmatix Soundsystem and Toronto’s Dub Collective. Wize takes a liberal approach to his music with tracks like “Electric Feel,” implementing old-school hip hop with electro beats.

Take Care of My Girlfriend (Say No)- BEAST

YouTube Preview Image

"Take Care of My Girlfriend (Say No)" is the latest single to come off of BEAST's second mini album "Shock of the New Era."  This KPop mega-group instantly proves they haven't lost their HipTronik touch. Between alternating serenades and intense rapping, the track makes a deep impression as it culminates in a classic boy band chorus. The lyrical intensity is on-par as the vocalist begs his ex-girlfriend to "say no" to his best friend -- whom he's already given permission to date her. Confused yet?

Be on the lookout for this up -and-coming boy band; they've just finished rocking the stage to a sold-out crowd alongside the Wonder Girls at the Hollywood Bowl's Korean Music Festival this past weekend. Perhaps a global takeover is on the horizon...

Hello Good Morning- Diddy (Dirty Money) ft. T.I. (Disco Fries Extended Remix)

Diddy - Dirty Money - Hello Good Morning (feat. T.I.) - Single - Hello Good Morning (feat. T.I.)
Where do we even begin with this one? "Hello Good Morning" is the debut track from Diddy's new project "Dirty Money." Fresh from the slammer and straight to the studio, T.I. also makes an appearance of this doozie of a track. The original doesn't have nearly the energy of this remix from the up and coming duo Disco Fries and dare we say it: this version is a hundred times better. Expect to hear this HipTronik groove in the clubs soon.

ADD SUV- Uffie ft. Pharrell Williams

YouTube Preview Image

Uffie
Are you ready for Uffie to blow up this summer? The French electro pop tart oft mentioned as the inspiration behind Ke$ha has primed herself for a mainstream debut with "ADD SUV," featuring Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D. fame. The song was produced by Mirwais (whose career was revived when Madonna discovered him in the late nineties) and displays Uffie's vocals with a dreamy sort of autotune, delving into everything from debutantes to drug abuse. Pharrell's verse -- though mildly mismatched -- is catchy nonetheless and just might give her the exposure she needs. Uffie's new album, "Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans," will be released May 31.

Lollipop (Nasty Ways Remix)- Lil Wayne ft. Nasty

YouTube Preview Image

Lil Wayne & Static Major - Tha Carter III - Lollipop
Nasty Ways was a short-lived remix duo made up of DJs Eprom and Boreta. The Nasty Ways remix of "Lollipop," however, made an appearance on the "Glitch Mob Mixtape: Crush Mode", which is nothing short of classic. The vocals stripped off the vocoder and splashed up against a mix of electro and bass gives credence to Lil Wayne's lyrical skills and creates an almost entirely new track. Ingenious. We dare you to not keep this HipTronik remix on repeat.

Flush – Losers

http://www.vimeo.com/10179130

Check out this new single from Losers, the UK-based remix and production duo collaborating out of the Bleak House studio. Former Cooper Temple Clause member, vocalist, songwriter, DJ and one-man-band Tom “Rhysmix” Bellamy has teamed up with Eddy Temple-Morris, who is well-known as an XFM radio host, live tour DJ, producer and TV presenter. Combining Bellamy’s multi-instrumental skills with Temple-Morris’s electro prowess has proved providential: Losers are gaining momentum as a DJ and remix force to be reckoned with.

Their recent release, “Flush” is a hard-hitting electro-hop dance track featuring the talents of Manchester-based rapper Nicola Varley (aka Envy) and Oxford-educated Rizwan Ahmed (aka Riz MC), a British-Pakistani actor and underground MC. The video itself showcases the eclectic backgrounds of both DJ’s with antique British Victorian images and modern animation for a winning HipTronik combination. Look out for more from Losers, including upcoming remixes, sold-out performances, and a brand new album, “Beautiful Losers.”

Try To Follow Me – 2NE1

YouTube Preview Image

After sweeping awards shows across Korea, the girls of 2NE1 are back with new tracks for 2010. "Try to Follow Me" is an electro fiesta of sorts which enough congo-like beats to make you feel like rocking out in the jungle. It's exotic with a touch of sweetness that only 2NE1 can offer. Oddly enough, the video for the track takes place in space, complete with exotic costumes and storm troopers. The song does get rather repetitive by the end but that's one of its few vices.

Memories- David Guetta ft. Kid Cudi

David Guetta - Memories (feat. Kid Cudi) - EP - Memories

David Guetta is on a roll with HipTronik these days having released multiple tracks with Akon, Chris Willis and Estelle. This Kid Cudi collaboration however takes the cake. The lyrics are kept simple and to the point: "All the crazy sh** I did tonight, those will be the best memories..." Combining David Guetta's infectious touch with Kid Cudi's uncanny ability to throw out a ton of emotions in a few words is ingenious. What results is a dizzying club anthem you'll find yourself playing over and over while getting ready for a night on the town.
