This could quite possibly be Zeebra's best work yet. "Butterfly City" features some of the best acts in Japanese hip hop on an electrifying HipTronik track. Zeebra has long been a fixture in Japanese hip hop and this release signifies his entrance into HipTronik, which is a great sign for a genre largely void on the island nation. "Butterfly City" sounds like something you'd hear in a killer DJ set, but the track also features, among others, fellow J-Hip-hop entrepreneur Double, who sounds amazing if not angelic here. You don't speak Japanese, you say? No problem, the track is not only universally danceable, it's also largely in English.

In a slightly more subtle effort than their Korean counterparts, Japanese superstars Namie Amuro and DOUBLE infuse hiptronik style into their new collaboration, “Black Diamond.” Pioneers who brought RnB to the forefront of Japanese pop music, this classily-clad duo highlight their sultry tones over the steady electro beat. Perhaps a bit repetitive at times, “Black Diamond” is nonetheless the perfect song for when you’re ready to slow down on the dance floor.
