Another week, another Monday, another mashup. This week we're bringing you a mashup by LA-based DJ Paul V, remixing old and new together with Phillie rapper Amanda Blank's "Might Like You Better" and vocals from 2003 Bad Cabbage track "You're Rude," all brought together with a hot electronic beat from electro house DJ deadma5's collaboration with Rob Swire, entitled "Ghosts n Stuff."
Burning (Krazy Fiesta Remix) – Whitest Boy Alive
Swedish DJ/production duo Krazy Fiesta create a unique Hiptronik sound with their remix of "Burning" by Whitest Boy Alive. On first listen, the track appears to be an amazing electro remix of an already great indie-dance track: an updated version with buzzier basslines and bouncier melodies. The Hiptronik element is a surprise when the duo introduces Amanda Blank's rap verse (from Spank Rock's track "Bump") into the mix. Along with Erlend Oye's vocals (Whitest Boy Alive) and Krazy Fiesta's electro beat, the track is flawlessly planned, so much so that it almost seems the various parts were actually made especially for the remix. Krazy Fiesta's Jonah and Erik really have a special knack for transforming hit singles into even catchier dance tracks. Long live the Swedes!
Extraball – Yuksek ft. Amanda Blank
Where Philly meets France…Well-known French producer Yuksek teams with outspoken female Phillie rapper and SXSW favorite Amanda Blank to produce a track in line with the signature French sound—a sound that has become synonymous with the likes of Daft Punk and Justice. This track is sure to entice casual electro listeners as well as indie track junkies. Yuksek's poppy french electro sound laced with Amanda Blank's rhythmically seductive flows and roughneck lyrics make "Extraball" a perfect blend of contrasting styles that will appeal to a wide range of international fans.
